Registering an Electoral District Association

Step 1

Make a contribution of $1650 to the American Party of Canada, and have $1650 set aside to donate to the riding association you intend to form. A key factor to winning elections is being able to finance them and this an area where most new political parties are lacking. While traditional television and radio are dying forms of media, advertising on both social media and streaming sites, while currently less expensive than traditional advertising, still cost money. As do campaign signs, websites, venues to rent for party events and gasoline to help people get to the poles on election day.

A strong EDA is critical to winning an election.

Step 2

Gather 250 signatures and contact information; address's, telephone numbers and email addresses from eligible voters in the riding you intend to form the EDA on behalf of the American Party of Canada. As per the Canada Elections Act, every EDA requires a CEO and a Financial Agent.

Complete the required EDA registration form.

Step 3

Find at least one eligible candidate to run, as per the party constitution. The individual must be a Canadian citizen born in North America and capable of speaking eloquent or, high English.

Hold an election within the EDA to confirm the Candidate and complete the required nomination contest report as per the Canada Elections Act.
